What if Sita .........

Throughout the Ramayan ,Shri Ram's character has been decorated with such beautiful composition that one cannot help but fall in love with him.All this greatness all this praise even after so many centuries,he lives in our heart and his message in our soul.Shri Ram was a model Son,student, brother,King but was he a model husband & father.I guess when one is perfect in many areas some areas do get neglected.

Sita who was not only his wife but the reason for his success on the otherhad was not done that much justice by society. She was praised as a great wife as a great mother but I want to appreciate her as a Great women.

She left the riches and comforts of her life and followed her husband in exile, when she had a choice to stay.
When Shri Ram had to put together an entire army to fight the mighty Ravan ,Sitaji was fighting him with nothing but her own strength.
Ravan was a great rich and powerful king.If Sita said yes to him she would have enjoyed all the power she could want and Shri Ram would have lost everything without fighting the war.Its was Sitas strength, sacrifice and resilience that was the reason of Shri Ram's victory.
When Shri Ram rescued her from Lanka she was made to pass thru the Fire to prove her purity ,she could have refused since it was an attack on her character but she chose to follow for her husband's respect.
After all these sacrifies also Shri Ram sent her away when she was pregnant because the society did not believe her innocence ? Even at this point she listened without complaining and left without disrespecting Shri Ram.
People talk about Shri Rams sacrifices, his pain but Sita's dedication and sacrifices are considered to be something that is expected from a women.

Our Society today is a ugly sequel of Ramayana where weakminded and evil society expect women to be Sita's and keep making sacrifices many a times against their will. A women's greatness ,her character is measured by her sacrifices and her endurance to pain. The more a woman endures pain and disrespect ,sacrifices all her wishes and will for other and almost negates her presence on this planet , her position rises to the one of greatness. On the other hand the moment she fights for her place ,rights her existence she becomes a "Mahila Mukti Andolan Activist" (literally a Woman's Liberation Fighter). Why do we women have to fight for any thing, does our existence in the evolution process of this planet not guarantee us a equal place in the society? This plight of women is not only an Indian problem but a general world issue give or take a little.

I wonder what would have happened if Sita had said "No" to the Fire test, would so many young and innocent women have not been burned in the name of "Dharma".

If she would have not left when Ram Asked her to due to society , could so many women have been spared from being treated like furniture by society.

Lastly if Sita would have married Ravan ,Could Ram become Shri Ram?
